Yeah... late announcement is late. I did say in my last journal about the photo shoot for the MCM London Comic Con. But a lot happened back then. Bad things. But that's all sorted now and I can finally tell you about the photo shoot bookings~! :D
Read the journal before you start booking!
As I've mention in the previous journals. Things will be different.
1) There will less time slots. A lot less! The time slots are:

Saturday
10am
1pm - Booked
4pm - Booked

Sunday
10am
1pm - Booked
4pm - Booked

**2 Slots left**

There's no time limit since the time gap is quite large. So until either one of us is satisfied with the photos. If you've missed out. I will add you to a waiting list (if you want to be added) and I will call/text you if anyone cancels or drops out for whatever reasons. If you do need to cancel, please let me know asap so I can contact the others to replace you. You don't have to tell me the reason why you want to cancel if you don't want to. It's first come, first served. BUT, read number 2 before you book!

2) In most of my shoots. I've always done it in one location. I wanna change that and do at least TWO different locations. So you must be willing to walk around to different locations with me! How far to walk is depending on what costume you are wearing.
The locations I've done for example are by the docks, the stair way on the bridge that crosses over the docks, the tree and bushes outside the West entrance, underground car park, East side hallways etc. Just look at the photos on my Facebook page.

3) Please bring your own references of the character(s)/series you are cosplaying as. Be it on paper, phone or tablet etc as I will not have enough time to research due to work and my preparation for the Chester half marathon run.

4) If you have any certain request that you want me to take a picture of, by all mean let me know. I am happy to do any kind of shoot, long as it does not contain, violence, nudity, racism or discrimination etc. Got props for the shoot? I'm ok with that. Long as it within the MCM rules.

 Q & A
Why the low amount of time slots for the shoot?

In the past I've always planned photo shoots that cover nearly the whole day. But doing that, I hardly see any of my friends and the Comic Con is pretty much the only time when we're all in one area. Plus I wanna do more photo journalism/ candid shots. I've not done any of that kind of photography for a long time!

Why the long trek for location shoots?

Every time I do a photo shoots and I always check the photos and decide if I am happy with the results or not on my camera. And most of the time where I look at the photos on my laptop, I change my mind and I don't like it as much as I did. And I always react where I thought " ahhh I should of done this or that" "oh I should of done this shot at x place" etc. Plus I want to give better environment of the character(s) in the shot and I am trying to be more creative with my shots.

And one advice to everyone. Since it's summer and it will be HOT inside the Expo hall. Bring plenty of drinks i.e. water, face towel (I kid you not, that will help you!) and bring a friend to help you out etc. Dehydration is not funny. I've seen it lots of times at the event and even I suffered from it once or twice! There's plenty of food outlet stores inside and one convenient store. There is a NISA (I think that's the name?) and a Tesco Metro outside the ExCel Centre which is about 5 or so minutes walk. I recommend to buy stuff for the weekend rather than for the day because they WILL get very busy and really crowded!

And that's pretty much it. You can decide and book now! Message me if you have any questions! Once booking is confirmed, please copy the form below, fill in the form and send it to me via note.

Hey everyone! Thought I should make a new post for the new year before I forget about doing it!
As you may notice, I've added a few photos from a photo shoot that me and Emi-zone did a few weeks ago.
We did a 'Ruby Rose' from RWBY, it's a web animation series created by Rooster Teeth. I didn't watch the show
before I did the shoot which I regret now. I wished I watched the show beforehand because there's so many
ideas I could of taken! I highly recommend you watch the show! About the shoot? I'll tell you now it was the worst and best
photo shoot ever! The worst was the weather. Cold, windy and it rained a bit but that's typical British weather.
The best bit was her costume as you can see in the photos I've submitted. Here's one of the photos below.

Red Like Roses by AkraruPhotography

Making a long story short. The other best bit of the shoot was that we both got 'knee deep' stuck into mud! I managed to get both of my legs out no problem.
Emi-zone managed to get her left leg out but her right leg was proper stuck! So I instantly grabbed some sticks and twigs for her left foot to step on and
she managed to get free! Just a reminder to everyone, I am NOT uploading all photos from any photo shoots I do on Deviantart anymore. I am only
uploading a few here but you can see the rest on my facebook page www.facebook.com/AkraruPhotogr… or on my Flickr page www.flickr.com/photos/akraruph…
(which I am currently and slowly updating!). I do hope we can do this photo shoot again and with the rest of the characters as well in the future!

So for 2014, I am planning to do more Photo shoot booths/studio at Expos and Cons again. I've only done one at the
MCM Midland Comic Con and that was back in 2012. Even though things didn't go smoothly we had a great time and got some
good positive feedback. So I now know what to do to make this better not only for me but for YOU as well! The first one for 2014
will be at the MCM Midland Comic Con in February 15th! I will only be selling photo prints on the spot. It's not set in stone yet
but I will be printing 6x4, 8x6 and A4 prints. Prices for the photo shoots and prints will be announced soon!

And for when I am not doing photo shoot booth/studio work, I will be doing photo shoot 'locations'! This where you can book a
allocated time slot and I will arrange the location for the shoot depending on the costume. This where I announce the 'changes' I've
mention last year. There will probably 'less' time slots depending on the event. This is because I actually want to see more of the event,
in the past I've spent most of my time doing the photo shoot and I only give myself enough time for food & drink and toilet breaks.
And again depending on the costume you are wearing, I like to do more location shootings, so you need to prepare or willing to walk
from one location to another! And lastly, payments for the photo shoots must be paid in advance. This is in accordance to the event's rules.
Payments can be done via PayPal or BACS (direct to bank account)  payments.

But if you wish to do location shoots like the one I did few weeks ago. Then please send me a message with details about the costume,
what you would like for the photo shoot and for more info!

And lastly the Charity Run.
I will be doing the Chester Half Marathon run on Sunday 18th May and the chosen charity I will be supporting is the
Cancer Research UK. I've lost my uncle in Hong Kong to cancer years ago and the last time I saw him was 13 years ago.
So not only I haven't seen him for a long time, I still not had the chance to pay my respect to him. And at the end of 2012, my
mum was diagnosed with 'Small Cell Lung Cancer'. While she is battling against cancer, I am doing my part by entering the race
and getting people to help donate for the cause. I am currently trying to raise £500 in total and so far I have managed to raise £318.37!
If you would like to make a donation, please visit my justgiving page www.justgiving.com/phillipchan or you can donate via text
by sending a message: WVCU65 with the amount ie £5, to 70070
If you don't know how long a half marathon is. It's just over 21km / 13 miles. 1 mile = about 1.6km.

Thank you.

So another MCM London Comic Con has come and gone. Time really did went so quickly over the weekend. Had ok time there. Weather was really bad but I didn't know about the 'super storm' flying over. That really messed up my outdoor shoots and the East Side block of the ExCel Centre was sealed off for some filming. Our photographer's favourite spot to was denied from us...

I've struggled to improvise for most of the shoot but I did the best I can and just learn from this on future photo shoots. I be will starting on the photos tomorrow!

Not 100% confirmed but in future photo shoots, I will be making some changes on the format and how things are done.
